Step-by-Step Trezor Wallet Installation
Follow these simple steps to set up your Trezor hardware wallet and keep your cryptocurrency safe.
Step 1: Visit Trezor.io/Start
Open your web browser and go to trezor.io/start. This is the official setup page provided by Trezor. Never download software from unofficial sources.
Step 2: Connect Your Trezor Device
Connect your Trezor device to your computer using the provided USB cable. The device should power on automatically and display the Trezor logo on its screen.
Step 3: Download Trezor Suite
Click on "Download for Desktop" to get Trezor Suite, the official application for managing your Trezor. Choose the version that matches your operating system (Windows, macOS, or Linux).
Step 4: Install and Open Trezor Suite
Install the downloaded software and open Trezor Suite. The application will automatically detect your connected Trezor device and guide you through the setup process.
Step 5: Create or Recover Wallet
Choose "Create new wallet" if this is your first time setting up the device. If you're restoring a wallet, select "Recover wallet" and enter your recovery seed phrase.
Step 6: Set Up PIN Protection
Create a PIN code to protect your device. Choose a PIN that's easy for you to remember but hard for others to guess. You'll need to enter this PIN each time you use your Trezor.
Step 7: Write Down Your Recovery Seed
Your Trezor will display 12 or 24 recovery words. Write these down on paper in the correct order. This is your backup - if you lose your device, these words can recover your wallet. Store them safely and never share them with anyone.
Step 8: Verify Your Setup
Trezor Suite will ask you to confirm some of your recovery words to make sure you wrote them down correctly. Once verified, your wallet is ready to use! You can now send and receive cryptocurrency safely.
